Boomyard marked its return to Delicious Pizza’s West Adams location on Sunday, October 1.
Jamaican deejay, emcee and chef Mysta Crooks, also known as the Patty Daddy, warmed the crowd with a mix of dancehall and Afrobeat tunes to prepare for the evening headliner, Sarah Couch, an R&B singer-songwriter from Kingston, Jamaica. Sarah was familiarly introduced by special guest Yaadcore, as she took the stage at sunset, backed by a live band. She performed songs “What You Said” and “Flexin” from her new EP “What Do You Know” and other singles “Ochi to Mobay”, “La La Laa” with Yaadcore, and her upcoming single “Truth Is” with Zac Jones to an impressed audience. Before the band wrapped for the night, local talent Mad Lion and Mr. Surprize also took the stage to close out the evening.
